Suminagashi translated means floating black ink. It is the ancient meditative Japanese practice of gently floating pigments on the surface of water with a brush and then capturing the image on an absorbent paper. Every print is one of kind and unique. You’ll be guided through a brief demonstration of this mesmerizing process and its history and spend most of the workshop making your own marbled papers. All materials will be provided. Ages 15 and up
