HAC’S signature Enamel on Copper Workshop pops-up in the iconic Farag’s summer courtyard!
According to Time Out, Farag’s is “an Egyptian-influenced, summer-only patio restaurant and mezcal and wine bar. Food, hospitality and design expert Megan Sanchez develops pop-up restaurants on the back patio of Güero No. 1 Tortas alongside cocktail visionary Ben Skiba.”
Come hang with us, have a little nosh, and learn the unique enamel on copper process. We will apply a range of colorful glass frit to a copper substrate, followed by a quick trip into our small, HOT kiln. You will leave with an original, hand-held work of art.
Enamel is an ancient art that fuses glass to metal—in this case copper. The process begins with cutting the copper using tin snips or selecting a copper substrate such as a copper light switch plate, a pin, or a small plate, and sprinkling colored glass upon it, and putting it in the kiln for less than a minute. Almost INSTANT satisfaction before your eyes!
