Frequently Asked Questions

What is H.A.C.?

We are an experimental art school ultimately–unaccredited, affordable, approachable, and low-stakes. We offer mostly uncommon art classes, workshops, private art parties, professional practice one-on-ones, and beyond.

Is booking a class in advance required?

Yes, for the time being, you need to book a class online in order to attend classes. This helps us prepare the space and budget supplies, and ensure we are not over capacity. We are exploring ways to accept payment at the time of the class in person, and will be opening that possibility soon. If cash, Venmo, or other in person payment is preferred, please email houseofartandcraft.pdx@gmail.com and we will work it out.

Can we book large groups?

Yes! We are currently offering beadwork and enameling for private group parties. We will be expanding the program to include many more uncommon art classes in Spring and Summer 2026. Please email houseofartandcraft.pdx@gmail.com.

Are you accepting donations?

Yes. Please learn more at our SUPPORT page. Our venmo is @houseofartandcraft_pdx

We periodically hold jam-packed studio sales that function as fundraisers for H.A.C. We are seeking support to cover H.A.C. operations, programming, teaching artist stipends, sliding scale spots, and material costs.

With an emphasis on affordable programs, we are especially seeking sponsoring partners to help us support the many limited scholarship spots we offer, for those who can’t afford classes.

If you are so inclined to support our new project through volunteering or in-kind donations of art supplies/materials, please connect with us— we can get creative! Email us here: houseofartandcraft.pdx@gmail.com

What if I can’t afford classes?

You are welcome here. We have limited NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) spots per class. Please email houseofartandcraft.pdx@gmail.com
