Cancellation Policy

Once a class is booked, refunds are most likely NOT available. If a student cancels a class at least 14 days prior to the class, then the student will receive a credit in the same amount they initially paid. Credits are available for up to 1 year from the date of cancellation. We hope you understand and we will try to be flexible depending on the individual situation and our administrative capacity to make last minute changes to our work.

House of Art and Craft reserves the right to cancel class programs if there are less than 3 signups per class, or further if any technical issues with equipment or the studio space, inclement weather, illness, family, or emergent personal matters that impact our ability to facilitate classes. We will notify students of any schedule changes in advance as much as possible, and will establish a roster of substitute teaching artists if appropriate so we can do our very best not to cancel. We hope you understand if there are late-notice cancellations, and will offer full refunds in the event cancellation on our end occurs.

Studio Policy

H.A.C. may provide food and drink in conjunction with our programs, but please be mindful to wash hands before and after using art materials and eating to prevent contamination or harm. Please respect art materials and other students and participants in class. H.A.C. takes place in a functioning artist’s studio. Students may be held responsible for any damaged or lost property, artwork, art materials, or equipment–though H.A.C. will aspire to be forgiving for any accidental damage.

Students are expected to be attentive and follow all operating guidelines as teachers and H.A.C. members instruct. There will always be room for individual artistic expression and exploration but our policy states that students are mindful, safe, and appropriate to the space, materials, and the other participants. Please notify H.A.C. members and teachers if any equipment appears damaged or defective. When your H.A.C. class or program ends, you must return any H.A.C. equipment, materials, property issued to you.

H.A.C. aspires to be an inclusive space for everyone, including our friends with physical or mental differences or disabilities. Students are always welcome to request any accommodations and H.A.C. members will do all that they can to support these requests within their abilities and means, and this information will be respected and kept confidential.

Release of Liability

Upon entering the H.A.C. Studio you release and hold harmless, House of Art and Craft, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of House of Art and Craft owners and operators or in route to or from any of said premises.

Photograph Release Policy

Very often we take photographs of the artistic processes and objects created during H.A.C. workshops and classes and events. Students may appear within these photos. We use photographs on our Instagram page, website, press, and for other promotional purposes, to support our vision for H.A.C. as a community art space. If you are not comfortable with being photographed, please just let us know and we will refrain from taking pictures of you or your work. We completely understand and are mindful to ask students their comfort levels before taking any photographs, and getting consent to take photos.

Students may not seek any form of compensation, including royalties arising from the use of any H.A.C. photographs. Students waive their rights to inspect or approve the photographs by which likeness appears. Students hereby hold harmless, release, and forever discharge from all claims, demands, and causes of action which student, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on Student or Student estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
