Support H.A.C.

Donate @houseofartandcraft_pdx. Thank you.

H.A.C. prioritizes low-income, underserved individuals in Portland, who have an interest in freely exploring their creativity in a community setting. Each H.A.C. program has sliding-scale and NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) options.

H.A.C. makes a concentrated investment in creative arts education, community, and empowerment for those most excluded from dominant high-level arts education and exclusive contemporary art spaces.

Our emphasis on NOTAFLOF and sliding-scale programs meet the needs of many low-income folks who have a creative spark but are otherwise not welcome into these often exclusive and expensive art institutions. We support their creative expressions of their experiences.

We, the H.A.C. directors, have lived experience as low-income working artists, first-generation college graduates, neurodivergent mothers, and also at times feeling like outsiders in the regional arts scene.

H.A.C. is an inclusive and fun gathering place for low stakes art experimentation, for anyone, no matter their educational background, class or identities!

We are currently seeking support to cover basic H.A.C. operations, class programming, guest teaching artist stipends, sliding-scale & NOTAFLOF spots, and material costs.

With an emphasis on affordable programs, we are especially seeking sponsoring partners such as art galleries, local businesses, and arts & craft enthusiasts. Partner information will be shared on our website and to our networks of over 7500 individuals and counting.

The opportunities for H.A.C. support currently include:

H.A.C. Artist Partners

Artist Partners may make a one-time donation $25 or more, and your names will be featured on our website and promotional materials! We love you!

H.A.C. NOTAFLOF Partners

NOTAFLOF Partners may donate $100-$200 per class.

  • 2 NOTAFLOF spots per class total a value of approximately $200 per class.

H.A.C. Angel Partners

Angel Partners may donate $1000 per season.

  • Our current expenses per season total approximately $17,760.

  • H.A.C.’s monthly expenses are approximately $5760, which includes studio rent $600, insurance $28, website and marketing fees $32, miscellaneous supplies $100, guest teaching artist $40/hr x 4 hours, and 2x $2500 monthly salaries according to WAGE, which is 66% of the average market rate of compensation for educational curriculum directors in Portland, Oregon.

If you are inclined to support our new project through volunteering or in-kind donations of art supplies/materials, please send us a note: houseofartandcraft.pdx@gmail.com.
