Ever seen a face in wood grain? Or thought about making your own weird and wonderful hat hook? Come to HAC and get wild with wood! We will have wood scraps of every size and shape, as well as numerous finishes, prepared stains, and other materials to add. This is an EXPERIMENT. We encourage coming without tightly held preconceived plans. Learn to let the materials guide you! Light refreshments provided.
Every student will receive:
Wood and wood scraps (We will make select cuts but the idea is really to work within the boundaries of the available materials)
Wood dye, lacquer and other stains and finishes
Wood glue and epoxy
Screws and nails
Hanging hardware
This is an experimental workshop emphasizing the importance of the material guiding the finished product. We are not a design school — making things means MAKING THEM with your hands! Sometimes confused, sometimes a bit lost but always with a playful attitude. Light refreshments provided.
