Pysanky Goose Egg workshop

  • House of Art and Craft 1235 Southeast Division Street, Suite 118 Portland, OR, 97202 United States (map)

Psanky is an ancient Slavic folk art of egg decoration originating in pre-Christian Pagan cultures. Using a wax-resist technique similar to Batik, we will create fantastical and symbolic egg paintings to celebrate the spring season coming.

Workshop includes:

  • Prepared goose egg

  • Kistka— a tool for the application of warm beeswax

  • Beeswax

  • Selection of colored inks

  • Inspirational books on egg painting

Open to individuals 12 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by parents for safety.
